Rose Quartz

Pink quartz beads were found in ancient Mesopotamia, today's Iraq, made in 7000 BC. The Assyrian jewelers in 800 BC. were the first to systematically use stone to make jewellery, sacred amulets and small utensils. The Greeks and Romans considered pink quartz a guardian of strength and protection for men and maternal care for infants.

The ancient people of America wore pink quartz beads and small amulets in fertility ceremonies in the early days of spring.

Quartz mineral, pure silicon oxide. It gets its color from traces and impurities of titanium, magnesium and iron that react oxidatively to silicon, creating shades from light to strong deep pink.

Pink quartz mines exist all over the world, the best qualities, special for making jewellery and ornaments are mined in Brazil, Central Africa, India and Pakistan. In Greece, exceptional shades of pink quartz were found in Milos, but are considered unusable commercially. It is considered the stone of love and heart.
