Andalusia, home to Velasquez and Picasso, the homeland of Carmen, in the most famous opera, is considered the land of the most beautiful blue quartz in the world. The Arabs, excellent craftsmen in jewellery, but also famous merchants, showed its value in Asia, Europe and North Africa. In China and Japan they considered blue quartz a sacred gem, a symbol of Heaven and Infinity.
