Black Rutile Quartz

 The colorless monocrystalline quartz, with enclosing fibers of black rutile, a mineral of titanium dioxide. Rutile needles are trapped in the process of crystallization of quartz, in volcanic silica dioxide rocks. The result is a beautiful popular stone, although new in the list of semi-precious stones for jewellery.

Rutile quartz was as a collectible semi-precious stone in the 1940s. During this decade, mineral collectors incorporated rutile quartz into their collections. The first quartz jewellery with rutile, appeared in 1950, but the stone gained great popularity in the US and worldwide, in the 60s, a decade of controversy, colors and intellect.

Brazil Madagascar and China are the countries where we find excellent quartz with rutile, generally mined in mines with galleries that extend to great depths.

In the treatments with crystals, rutile, stimulates the properties of quartz. It provides protection to the patient, but also to his therapist. Small quartz with rutiles were used to absorb negative energy and enhance mental health. 

Hindu healers believe that the trapped rutile facilitates the flow of energy waves in the etheric body, affecting the solar plexus (Manipura) and the heart chakra (anahata).
